Buying Winter Tires

The first thing to remember about winter tires is that they do not get as much use as summer tires. There are no mud or snow tires for winter. The reason for this is because the weather is normally dry when you choose winter tires. The result is that you are going to spend more on gas to go around in a car that does not have winter tires.

Keep in mind that gas mileage does not increase with tires. You can increase your gas mileage with snow tires, but it will take you a little longer to get to your destination. You will also pay more for the gas you burn. Remember that when you are looking at your plan of action for the next winter. You will need to save money in the long run, so keep this in mind when you are looking at what type of tires you want to use.
